Jobless Rates Sores To 8.9% Nationwide

Unemployment continues to rise and folks are getting darn-right, nervous! Is it becoming an epidemic, perhaps a depression? No one knows for sure but the indicators surely are not promising either way.

An alternative measure of unemployment includes other groups, such as people who have become discouraged and stopped looking and people who are working fewer hours than they would like for economic reasons. If those groups are included, the unemployment rate in April was 15.8 percent, up slightly from 15.6 percent in March.

These facts are unnerving especially when our country's "moral" is being effected. If you are out of work and nothing seems to be working, it's time to step out of your comfort zone and explore things you would have never considered before.

Here are some things to consider when "life" seem to throw you a curve ball:

  • What core value can you offer any company or business?
  • What are you really good at?
  • How about your passion for a hobby or sport? Look at companies that may be hiring in that area.
  • Consider turning your passion or hobby into a business - think about this - it's doable!
  • Take stock of your finances and get your arms around a sound budget to better understand "how much" you need and how long you can go before running out. Build your own plan around this area first!
  • Network, network, network! Use your Facebook or Twitter or whatever social site you prefer to get your name or resume out there. It works...get your name out there!
If you are interested in learning how to transfer your skills online, please our free report on the right hand side of this article and we will send you some valuable information that will show you step-by-step.

Either way, "think-out-side-the-box"....yes, a highly over-used term like, "Just Do It" but forget that and embrace it's meaning.

Flush the Fat at Any Age!

As we age, it's no surprise that our metabolism slows down and the pounds seem to pile on. Frustrating as it may seem, there are very simple ways to to start losing weight RIGHT NOW and shed those unwanted pounds, as you are flushing the fat right out of your system!

Let's begin with the fundamentals. First and foremost, you must have your "why" in order. What is the reason that you are going to commit to losing weight and get in shape?

Think about this. Is it, health issues? Does heart disease run in the family - so, preventive reasons? How about wanting to attract the opposite sex? Whatever your reason, etch it in your mind and commit to it.

Here are some quick bullets that should help you get started:
  • Set milestones, ones that are achievable. NOT, I want to lose 10 lbs this week. (eg. walk 10-20 mins a day, don't eat after 6, drink more water, etc.)
  • Exercise a minimum of 3 times a week to begin and then 4-5 days per week once it's in your blood!
  • Choose more aerobic exercises over weight training at the beginning. Then add in weight training after 30 days.
  • Drink lots and lots of water, stay away from soda completely. Reg or diet. Keep the fruit juices low and only choose low sugar ones.
  • Try Interval Training! Walk, run, jog....walk, run, jog. Just to begin. You can advance this form of training at your gym or even outdoors. Be creative.
  • Eat only chicken, fish and lean meats with vegetables for the first 30-45 days. Your weight will peel off! Stay away from bad carbs!
  • After 45 days begin to incorporate healthy breads - 12 grain and Gluten free if possible. Eat these types of carbs at the beginning of the day.
  • Keep alcohol intake very low, perhaps 1 drink a day - max...if you must have it. Let's be real here =)
  • I believe in vitamins, antioxidants, enzymes and minerals. I usually buy www.rawvitamins.com ( no affiliation) Also, try Mila by Lifemax a one-of-a-kind nutrient dense supplement that is jam-packed with antioxidants, Omegas and other cancer fighting nutrients that has had a profound effect on my family's health. Go to, www.themiracleseed.com for more information. Brian Bilbro <-(check out his YoutTube segment) is one of Lifemax's founding distributors; he's highly credible, honest and more than anything, passionate about the life-changing benefits this product and company offers. • Vision, vision, vision your success! Forget the scale...use the mirror and your clothes as the gauge for progress.
Here's another quick tip - I usually keep grilled chicken breasts and diced tomatoes in my refrigerator at all times. When I have a craving, I snack on those and realize I'm not that hungry when dinner comes around. Try it, it works!

Well, there you have it! I promise you, if you follow these simple, tried and proven techniques that WORK, you will flush the fat and begin your journey towards overall physical wellness.

Good luck!

The Work @ Home Phenomenon

At this time, thousands and thousands of professionals are engaged in this "movement" to work from home. Some are forced to because of downsizing or the necessity to be with their children, but most realize that it's time to own their piece of the "pie" - and now more than ever, it's possible...

Oh to work from home, what a thought, would that be nice; where never is echoed a discouraging word, and the sky is not clouded all day! Many people entertain the possibility of starting a new home based business, especially in today's day and age. In fact, sociologists tell us many people are doing precisely that: returning to the homestead as a primary or secondary source of income.

This is not a surprising phenomenon and is really a sign of the times. In the larger perspective: hostile corporate takeovers, increasing profit margins, downsizing, outsourcing of jobs to multi-nationals and the overall proliferation of technology and the Internet are rapidly eliminating jobs, etc... all play a role in the desire to start a home based business.

This is not to suggest that these are the only reasons for this exodus to domesticity: personal factors also play a significant role in the desire to work from home. The idea of being your own boss and being in control of your own destiny will always be appealing to the more entrepreneurial segment of our society.

The increasingly long commute, corporate disloyalty to employees, mothers and fathers not being able to witness the most significant events in their own children's lives must also exert a strong pull to the homestead. In my case, my fancy position as Director of Sales for a financial software company came to a screeching halt as the company downsized significantly because of the economic climate. In fact, there are rumors that the company may run the business from a virtual standpoint, meaning no offices, no building...entirely over the Internet.

Yes, the "Work From Home" shift is indeed a sign of the times but in more ways than one. Technology has also made the home based business an increasingly viable alternative. The Industrial Revolution of the late 18th and early 19th century that began in Britain and spread throughout the world, has given way to the Information Technology Revolution. Computers, software, the Internet, cell phones, and Networks are the new tools of the trade for today's home based worker. With approximately one billion people presently online in 2006 and yet another billion anticipated to be online by 2011, who can reasonably argue that this is not the wave of the future for a significant portion of our working population.

Network Marketing has truly come of age. In fact many companies which buy and sell through a series of networks are publicly traded on the Nasdaq and are listed on The Inc. 500 of fastest growing companies. These are credible, rock-solid companies whose reputation is beyond repute. Want more proof of this growing trend to network marketing? Do a simple search for "home based businesses" online using any major or minor search engine and you will be flooded with pages of information. And the real beauty of an online business is that you don't have to quit your present job (but why make "them" rich?) in the real world to be a part of it, although many people do precisely that at a certain point.

In any event, more and more people are beginning to realize that the State may not always be there to help them and that there's nothing wrong with wanting to improve the financial lot of your loved ones. If you're thinking of getting involved in a home based business, do your research and listen to 15yearsleft.com as Mark Yarnell's perspective had a great influence on my desire to build an empire - right here - in our spare bedroom. Go for it!
